The Crop Insurance Specialist I will provide accurate and efficient service to AgriLogic agents and their customers through technical policy support, exceptional internal processing and collaborative teamwork.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process insurance forms timely and accurately.

  • Partner with teams or workgroups to identify process improvements and/or best practices.

  • Serve as a contact for the agency force.

  • Promptly address and communicate agent concerns.

  • Ensure timely transmission of data to RMA.

  • Resolve RMA transmission errors to ensure timely processing of business.

  • Work independently and with team to recognize problems, provide analysis, determine solutions and recommend appropriate communication of resolution.

  • Utilize official publications including the Crop Insurance Handbook, Loss Adjustment Manual, policy provisions, and other official resources for problem solving. Research other industry and RMA publications to provide information.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and corporate policies and procedures.

  • Test processing system changes and enhancements.

  • Evaluate and submit system requests and requirements.

  • Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the processing system, industry and corporate forms, crop plans, policies, and federal rules.

  • Serve as a backup to provide system, processing and policy training to internal audiences.

  • Assist in defining and documenting processing procedures, business practices and computer processes.

  • Contact other companies and Regional Offices as needed for policy information, ensuring time-sensitive documents are handled with priority.

  • Requires a regular and dependable level of attendance on the job.

  • Performs and/or participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills:

Experience, Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelors Degree, or equivalent work experience required

  • Minimum of 3-6 years crop insurance experience required

  • Extensive knowledge of NCIS/RMA crop policies required

  • Knowledge of computers and all Windows based applications required

  • Strong skills in all aspects of crop insurance processing

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, time management skills and customer service mindset

  • Ability to perform under deadlines, which are subject to change and have short time constraints

  • Very high level of accuracy and attention to detail coupled with excellent follow through capabilities

  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential materials

  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively demonstrate team building attitude and skills

  • Basic knowledge of insurance principles and their application to insurance delivery.
